Program:
Launched in 2003, the Berlin Doctoral Program in Economics & Management Science, BDPEMS, is an initiative of internationally renowned researchers from all major economic research institutions in Berlin.
The program aims at outstanding students with at least a bachelor's degree. Intensive training, emphasizing rigorous analytical methods and quantitative analysis, prepares the participants for successful research in a broad range of fields, e.g. economic growth, crises and business cycles, the design and working of organizations and institutions, industry structures and business strategy, competition policy and regulation, financial markets, and political economy. All teaching is in English. The duration of the program is about four years for students starting with a bachelor's degree and three years for those starting with a master's degree. Degree: The doctoral degree is awarded by the university of the student's supervisor according to the rules of that university. Tuition fees & stipends: We charge no tuition fees and offer 10 scholarships / research positions for the new intake in 2010. |

City: As a major European center, Berlin enjoys a vibrant cultural, political and academic life, hosting regularly exiting events in arts and entertainment. The city has developed a reputation for openness and tolerance, which makes it easy to integrate and make new friends. Last not least, in spite of all its attractions, the cost of living in Berlin are low. |
